MEDLATEC, a trailblazer in on-site testing sample collection services and a prominent hospital in Vietnam, stands as a pioneer in its field. As of June 2023, its parent company, MED GROUP, has an extensive presence with 29 branches, 44 offices in Hanoi, 200 sample collection points nationwide, and one branch in Cambodia.
MEDLATEC aims to implement an omnichannel commerce model to its digital presence, positioning themselves as the first hospital in Vietnam to adopt such a transformative approach.

In response to the dynamic market and evolving customer preferences, and with a vision for an inclusive medical service that reaches every individual in society profoundly, MEDLATEC wanted to upgrade its old application called iCNM. Their vision included a complete re-launch with a new name, look, features and more.
SmartOSC joined forces with MEDLATEC to address the hospital’s needs for a comprehensive solution capable of integrating various systems, including content management, search optimization, customer data platforms, hospital information systems, laboratory information management systems, CRM, partner booking systems, mobile apps, and internal systems like PIM, ODS, and POS.

The plan to achieve this was to allow all B2B tracking, sales, and fulfillment directly through the new webstore while serving the B2C market simultaneously.

Comprehensive Digital Transformation Consultancy
SmartOSC, a leading digital transformation consultancy, collaborated with MEDLATEC to understand their unique needs and develop a robust eCommerce site on the Magento platform. The solution prioritized establishing a strong information system foundation that could easily adapt to future business scaling. Key features and integrations included:
- Content management functions for personalized information delivery

- Integration of a Customer Data Platform (CDP)
- Integration of Hospital Information System (HIS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIS)

Enhanced Medical Services And Customer Experience
To enhance customer experience and convenience, SmartOSC separated the old iCNM application into two: MEDON Doctor for doctors and MEDON for patients. The shared medical model was upgraded with an online version, enabling customers to book appointments not only with MEDLATEC doctors but also with affiliated clinics and hospitals nationwide.
We applied an omnichannel approach, which provided a seamless experience for customers, from personalized online interactions to direct medical examination locations.
eCommerce Platform For Pharmaceuticals
MEDON also facilitated an online pharmacy, allowing pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment suppliers to showcase and sell products. The closed management system improved the user purchasing experience by managing shipping, tracking orders, and integrating electronic payment gateways, creating transparency in the trading platform for medical and pharmaceutical products.
